Drama genre film tells about a family conflict and the fight between brothers, Brendan Conlon (Joel Edgerton) and Tommy Riordan (Tom Hardy). Both fought in an MMA tournament called 'Sparta'.
Tommy was a former Marine back to his home and asked his father to train him. He wanted to follow MMA tournament with the biggest prize in history.
Meanwhile, her brother, Brendan is facing problems. His house will be confiscated. And he fought hard to protect their families from becoming homeless.
Brendan who is a teacher, eventually consider returning to work part-time. He wants to be paid fighter dark. The desire was not easily accomplished because of opposition from his wife (Jennifer Morrison).
He also to the wishes of his wife. Finally, Brendan switched to match Sparta. That is where he met his brother who also attended the match.
These brothers were both fighting to get a prize of U.S. $ 5 million. Both Brendan and Tommy has its own importance for the prize. If Brendan wants to save his family, Tommy plans to use the gift to please his friend's family who live far from the United States.
After defeating his opponents, these brothers met in the finals. Relationships in the past are not good between them make the game full of emotion. Tommy still hold a grudge against Brendan. He was determined to beat his brother hard. Meanwhile, Brendan allowed himself to be the butt of his brother. So, who is the winner?
Some scenes in this movie is so touching and able to make the audience shed tears.
